Sam Poole joined the Breakwater team in 2006. He began his career in the mortgage and financial profession working for RBC Centura in Virginia Beach and Williamsburg in 1999. In addition to the market management of Williamsburg, Sam oversaw a Private Banking portfolio of professionals and executives. He provided commercial, mortgage and investment solutions that were tailor made to fit their complex financial situations. Sam also worked as the Executive Director of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society's Virginia Chapter. Prior to his tenure with Breakwater, Poole opened a branch of Virginia Mortgage in New Kent, Virginia.

Sam had a poor first mortgage experience, and it is one of his motivations for striving for excellence in his profession. His philosophy is to have a seamless and well- communicated process with his clients from beginning to end. Sam believes in an educational approach with his clients, whether he is working with a first time homebuyer or a seasoned investor.

Sam lives in New Kent County, Virginia with his wife, Tracy who is a social worker for the City of Williamsburg. They have two sons Jay, who is adopted and Reese, who is in foster care with hopes of being adopted.
