Chris Mendez graduated from James Madison University, with a B.A. in Finance and a minor in Economics. He began his career in the financial industry working in the consumer finance market for Beneficial Finance. Chris soon acquired a thorough knowledge of the mortgage finance process there. He also had the opportunity to work with clients with challenged credit. Prior to becoming the approvals and processing manager, Chris gained experience as a loan officer for Breakwater Mortgage, and familiarized himself with mortgage products. At Breakwater Mortgage, Chris was instrumental in starting the "Get Mortgage Ready Program" for buyers with credit issues.

With his knowledge base of the business and products, Chris was the perfect choice for the Approvals and Processing Manager. Chris answers specific questions about loan products, and he tracks mortgage activity on the loans. Often he will communicate directly with Breakwater clients or REALTORS for quick problem solving.

Chris was raised in a military family. His Grandfather served in both the Army and Navy and was present for Pearl Harbor. His father, Jim Bond, is a retired Naval Captain.
