Nedra Talley Ross

In October 1963 "Be My Baby" hit number two on the charts and The Ronettes exploded onto the mainstream music scene. This was the beginning of a long career in the spotlight for Nedra Talley Ross, a career that has continued to blossom and evolve over the years. Nedra is a creative and successful businesswoman with a variety of projects always in the works. When she isn't singing Nedra is buying real estate and when she needed a personal mortgage broker she turned to Breakwater Mortgage. Two members of the Breakwater team, Jennifer Ross and Sherry Guard, assisted Nedra with planning and provided the highest quality of service available.

Nedra wanted to work with mortgage brokers who were both professional and personal. When she met Jennifer and Sherry she knew she had found the perfect mortgage professionals. "I like the people I do business with to know me personally," says Nedra. "Jennifer and Sherry a re very good listeners," she continues, "and they laid out the bigger picture for me." Jennifer and Sherry offered their expertise and explored all of the mortgage possibilities available to Nedra.

On July 6, 2005 at the Wildwood Convention Center in Wildwood, New Jersey Nedra Talley Ross and the group the Ronettes were inducted into the Vocal Hall of Fame. The vocal groups inducted in 2005 spanned five decades of music from the 1940's to the 1980's. The three-day ceremony featured nightly concerts performed by newly and formerly inducted groups. The Girl Power performance on July 6 featured Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Florence Larue of the Fifth Dimension, Arlene Smith of the Chantels, Gladys Horton of the Marvelettes and Nedra Talley Ross of the Ronettes. "It was a nice honor and a nice crowd," says Nedra. "I had a lot on my plate at that time," she adds, "and Jennifer and Sherry acted like my personal managers." "They knew what I needed to accomplish my goals," she continues, "and while I was away they followed through."

Nedra currently performs with both her daughter Nedra-Kristina and granddaughter Brooklyn. It seems fitting that her music continues with the family since her career began with her two cousins Veronica Bennett-Spector and Estelle Bennett. She currently lives in Chesapeake, Virginia with her husband Scott Ross, a TV and radio personality with the Christian Broadcasting Network. Nedra plans to work with Breakwater Mortgage in the future and has even recommended them to her son as he plans his first real estate investment. "The fact that I recommend Breakwater Mortgage to my children says a lot about how I feel about Jennifer and Sherry," states Nedra. Her family has become part of the Breakwater tradition of "customers for life".
